Environmentalism for a New Millennium is not dedicated to literature in the least. Rather, Thiele traces the history and concerns of the environmental movement. He opens with a brief discussion of the parks and conservation movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Its all about context with this book. I'm going to argue, I think (along with Thiele), that it's the post WWII military industrial complex that gives birth--in yin/yang fashion--to what we recognize now as evironmentalism. Literature and politics and their shared concerns wind around each other starting in the fifties. Or, we'll see.
But for now, more cats! Or, rather, the other cat around the holiday tree. Just a couple o' pix for fun.
Jake has it figured out..Loonis has her special spot beneath the Christmas tree as well... See ya soon!
