Today's is D's birthday. I'll pause while you give a brief cheer.
We'll be heading to Omaha, I think, to explore some shopping options--mostly centering on the fondling of yarn. Which is not a euphemism. From there, who knows. Dinner. A movie. Knitting.
On to matters meteorological. We had a savage wind overnight. Gusts in the 40-50 mph range. The pine tree just outside our office window is still standing, but it's shed needles over the snow in a spray pattern that reminds me of the tail of a comet. Substitute wind for solar wind and pine tree for comet body and you get the picture.
Last random thought: over on his blog, my old drinking buddy Shannon has pointed out the absurd casting of Road Hogs. To wit: John Travolta, William H. Macy, Tim Allen, and Martin Lawrence. He proposes a challenge: come up with a "less plausible" cast of four for a road-trip, buddy movie. Tell him I sent ya.

I stumbled in by way of Crafty Green Poet - and am ever so glad for it.
Thanks for steering me to your drinking buddy's movie/contest post. Earlier today I caught a trailer for the same movie and had the same guffaw at the buddies Hollywood contrived. It irked me.
Now, thanks to you (and Shannon) I can grin next time I see the trailer.
Graciously yours

Thanks for sending people my way, James. And yeah, the casting of that movie is pretty ridiculous.
